ALYCE HATCH CENTER APPOINTS MATINA (TINA) FERLANDER TO BOARD OF DIRECTORS

BEND, Ore, January 26, 2004 --  Ann Elkin, president of the board of directors of the Alyce Hatch Center, Inc., announced today that Matina (Tina) Ferlander has joined their board.

“I am excited to have Tina join the Alyce Hatch board of directors.  Her enthusiasm and broad experience will be complimentary to our current board members,” said Elkin.  “The Alyce Hatch Center is an organization with a mission that is very important to me personally,” noted Ferlander. “By joining the board of directors, I will be able to help in the community and work with an organization that also happens to be in an area of my career interest.”

Ferlander moved to Bend in 1996 from Silverdale, Washington to accept a position with a utility software company because of her extensive utility industry and computer information systems background. Currently she is attending the University of Oregon via a program located at OSU Cascades Campus and is pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in social science with an emphasis on psychology.  Her goal is to complete her Masters in the field of counseling.

The Alyce Hatch Center, which is located at 1406 NW Juniper St. in Bend, is a regional resource for young, disabled children and their families.  Services provided at the center are designed to address the special education and therapeutic needs of children from birth to five years of age.  The Alyce Hatch Center has been assisting children with special needs and their families since 1975.
