ALYCE HATCH CENTER TO OFFER UNIQUE CHRISTMAS ORNAMENT

 

Proceeds to Benefit Board of Directors’ Special Projects at the Center

 

 

BEND, Ore, Nov. 18, 2003 --  Carla Hunt, a board member of the Alyce Hatch Center, Inc., announced today that the Alyce Hatch Center was again offering Christmas ornaments for sale.  Funds received from the sale of ornaments go directly to the Family Resource Fund and the Family Aid Fund at the Alyce Hatch Center.

 

Hunt said, “This year marks the tenth year that the Alyce Hatch Center board has produced Christmas ornaments as a fundraiser.  Like in previous years, the 2003 ornament, the Reindeer, is different than those ornaments made in previous years. This year, we have also made a limited supply of a 10 year commemorative ornament, which is a star – the first ornament offered in the series. The Alyce Hatch Center board has once again teamed up with Sisters’ potter, Ken Merrill, owner of Canyon Creek Pottery, to create and manufacture these unique clay pieces.

 

“The ornaments are a great gift for family, friends or valued employees,” said Ann Elkin, president of Alyce Hatch Center, Inc.  “This year we have made 1000 of the “Reindeer” ornaments and 300 of the 10th Anniversary “Star” ornament.”

 

The 2003 ornaments (Reindeer) will sell for $7 and the 10th Anniversary ornaments (Star) will sell for $10.  Ornaments will be available at shops throughout Bend, including The Book Barn, Tuffy’s Coffee and Company, Saxons Fine Jewelers, The Alyce Hatch Center, the Kids Holiday Village store in the Shops at the Old Mill, Katie’s on Roanoke, Canyon Creek Pottery in Sisters, and from any board member.  Additionally, the ornaments will be available at the Sunriver Resort’s Holiday Marketplace on Saturday, November 29th.

 

The Alyce Hatch Center, which is located at 1406 NW Juniper St. in Bend, is a regional resource for young, disabled children and their families.  Services provided at the center are designed to address the special education and therapeutic needs of children from birth through age five.  The Alyce Hatch Center has been assisting with the needs of these children with special needs since 1975.
