President: Ann Elkin (pictured far left)

Daughter of Alyce Hatch, Ann has been on the Board of Directors since 1985. She is committed to the center bearing her mother’s name and has witnessed the many changes and accomplishments the Center has gone through. Ann enjoys golf, socializing with long time friends and family gatherings.

Vice President: Carla Hunt

Born and raised in Bend, Carla knew Alyce Hatch growing up and is still good friends with her daughter, Ann Elkin.  She enjoys volunteering for special projects and started the Christmas ornaments back in 1993.  The collectible handmade pottery ornaments have become an anticipated yearly tradition that Carla organizes and heads up each year. Carla has loved her 15 years on the Alyce Hatch Board of Directors.

Treasurer: Jolene Cap

Prior to moving to Bend Jolene Cap owned Business Telephone Exchange in Portland, Oregon.  After taking a year off to enjoy life she joined United Communications as the Billing Supervisor and she is currently the Billing System Administrator.   In her spare time she enjoys pottery and golfing.  She has served on the boards of other philanthropic, sports and home owners associations over the years and looks forward to working with the Alyce Hatch Center and the Board of Directors.

Building Manager: John Ramsay

John has been a plumber since 1972, and has taught in the apprentice program for the past 10 years. With quite a varied background, John was on the Mt. Bachelor Ski Patrol for many years, a Central Oregon football official and is a retired EMT. He was instrumental in the construction of the Alyce Hatch Center remodel along with the Boys & Girls Club of Central Oregon.

Legal Representation: David W. Smiley, Attorney at Law

David moved to Bend in 1998 with his family and currently works as an attorney here at his own practice, David W. Smiley, P.C. Some of David’s interests are mountain biking, white water rafting, hiking, and community service with youth and elderly. David hopes to make the services offered through the Alyce Hatch Center known to the community and achieve stable support for the Alyce Hatch Center for years to come.

Wendy Bliesner

Wendy has been on the board for 8 years and organized the wine tasting fundraisers. She has lived in Bend since 1979 and enjoys running her business from home while raising her family. In her spare time, she likes to volunteer at her children’s school, go to the lake with family and friends, garden and entertain.

Interested in becoming a Board Member?

The Alyce Hatch Center Board of Directors always welcomes new individuals interested in joining the board. If you can contribute one evening a month and have skills or contacts in publicity, website maintenance, grant writing or special event planning, please fill out the application below and send it to us. You can then attend a meeting to find out more about whether this volunteer opportunity is right for you. We always welcome committed and energetic volunteer board members who want to carry on the tradition that Alyce Hatch envisioned so many years ago.
